On July 28, 2007, James Ferrel passed away. He was a member of the Albuquerque Dukes in the MABL. "He was an extremely talented, bright and cheerful young man who had everything going for him" said his manager Russel Smith. James is an alumni of Manzano High School and was attending McCook Junior College where he was playing first base.

James will be missed by his Duke teammates and the members of the league. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
